Silver Oak Estates

The city is a small town in Contra Costa County that is located just East of San Francisco. Clayton has a long story, starting with Native American tribes, then Spanish colonization in the late 18th century, and finally becoming part of the United States in 1848. It really grew during the California Gold Rush in the mid-1800s when people from all over came looking for gold.

 

Situated in the sun-soaked hills of the East Bay, which is just east of the major centers of San Franciso and Oakland, Clayton boasts moderate winter months and a warm-summer Mediterranean climate.  It has a lower cost of living than San Francisco and other nearby South Bay, Central and East Bay cities but yet offers top rated schools, gourmet dining, boutique shopping, breathtaking views and plenty of outdoor activities including exploring the nearby Mt. Diablo State Park by taking a hike to the summit for stunning scenes from the top. With its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to major cities like San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento, Clayton is an ideal spot to raise a family as well as for relaxation, recreation and exploration.
