But like any living being, periodic maintenance and check-ups are a must. Sometimes, problems occur. The purchase of a new home is a major investment – maybe the biggest an individual or family will ever make. Clyde Miles Construction Co. is proud of the homes it builds and backs its workmanship with its adherence to the new California “Fix It Law” and its own fit and finish warranty.

FAQ ( Common Problems )
Outlets not working at bathrooms or kitchen?

Outlets not working at bathrooms or kitchen? Check the GFI outlets. They are the outlets that have a “Test” and “Reset” button located between the two outlets. Push the reset button at the outlet itself. If the problem persists, you will need to check the breaker located in your electrical panel. If the breaker has tripped, turn it all the way off and then back on.
Heater or air conditioner not working? Check the fuses.

AC Disconnect - located within 5 feet of the condenser unit.

Sub-panel. Normally located in the garage or laundry room.
Heater or air conditioner not working? Check the fuses. They are located in the A/C fuse box positioned at the main furnace unit. Blown fuses are the most common cause of problems. It is a very good idea to keep extras on hand.
Water pipe break?

Water pipe break? Turn the water service off to the home to stop the flow of water and allow time to find the problem. The service is located at the front of your home. There is a handle on the copper pipe you can see goes into your home Turn the handle clockwise to turn the water off. Call our office for further assistance.
Just moved in and phone line doesn't work?

Just moved in and phone line doesn’t work? Unscrew the cover to the telephone box, located at the side of the garage. Plug a phone line in at the interface which looks like a regular phone jack. If you do not hear a dial tone, it is a phone company problem. If you hear a dial tone, there is a problem with the lines in the home. You will need to contact our office.
Smoke Detectors beeping?

Smoke Detectors beeping? Time to change the battery. Remove the cover and replace the battery, the beeping should stop. The cover should snap off easily. You may need to turn it slightly and then lift off.
Garbage Disposal jammed?

Garbage Disposal jammed? There should be a small wrench on the side or bottom of the disposal. You can turn the nut at the bottom of the disposal with this wrench to help free the blades. There should also be a reset button. Push the button and try the disposal again.
